If you would like to experience a good Christmas vibes along with the Christmas market, then visiting Shanghai would be a nice choice because there are several Christmas Markets there that are opened since November.
The one that we visited was the annual and famous German Christmas Market, which was Christkindlmarkt. To visit this Christmas market, we need to buy the online ticket in advance. We could buy it on the spot, but they will not guarantee the stock. Just like when we arrived at the Christmas market at around 6PM as scheduled on the ticket, we saw that the on the spot tickets had been sold out. Luckily, we had purchased our online tickets in advance before ![]()
In the queue gate before entering the Christmas market, it was so crowded. You know what, it was more crowded once you entered it. For me, it was like you queued for something. Because of the massive crowd, we found it hard to explore the tenants that consists of F&B, Christmas decorations, handmade gifts stalls ![]()
Beside the crowd, I would love to say that they put so much effort in decorating the market, so that it became so festive and beautiful. It is like we were in Europe ![]()
Kudos for the decorations and various stalls ![]()
For the drink, I was excited to try Mulled Wine for the first time. It is an alcoholic drink that was made with 1 shot rum, wine, spices, and served hot. The alcohol taste was not that strong because of the spices. This was a comforting hot drink during the cold day in Shanghai.
I would like you to experience the crowded Christkindlmarkt through this video :
