Who says a place named after Kulcha cannot surprise you with a good plate of Chole Bhature? Sometimes, the most interesting food discoveries happen when you venture beyond a restaurant’s signature speciality!

Continuing my gastronomic journey through Delhi NCR’s Chole Bhature destinations, Episode 24 takes me to K Se Kulcha at DLF Mall of India, Sector 18, Noida.

The story behind K Se Kulcha

There is an interesting story behind this brand. K Se Kulcha was launched in August 2021, during the challenging days of the COVID-19 pandemic, by entrepreneur Manas Wadhwa, who is also associated with hospitality ventures such as Desi Vibes, Kaffiaa and Imperial Spice.

The idea was to bring the authentic flavours and nostalgia of Amritsar’s famous street food to a contemporary food-service format, while maintaining quality, consistency and hygiene.

As the name suggests, the brand’s original focus was on Amritsari Kulchas, with several stuffed varieties and traditional accompaniments. The young venture also received recognition through the Best Newcomer QSR Award at the Food Connoisseurs India Awards.
Beyond Kulchas – The Chole Bhature connection!

Although K Se Kulcha is primarily known for its Amritsari Kulchas, its menu offers more than just this Punjabi speciality. It also caters to lovers of North Indian comfort food, including Chole Bhature.

And that is precisely what brought me here!

The star of my visit – Chole Bhature!

There is something universally appealing about a plate of Chole Bhature. The combination of spicy, flavourful chickpeas and freshly fried, golden, puffed-up bhature is a celebration of Punjabi food culture.

The chole, with its medley of spices and rich flavours, provides the perfect counterpoint to the soft yet crisp bhature. Add some sliced onions, tangy pickle and chutney, and you have a combination that is hard to resist.

For someone exploring Chole Bhature destinations across Delhi NCR, it was interesting to discover this offering at a restaurant whose identity is built around kulchas.

Why is K Se Kulcha interesting?

The brand’s appeal lies in its attempt to bring traditional Punjabi street-food flavours into an organised quick-service restaurant environment. Its Amritsari roots, diverse menu and convenient location inside DLF Mall of India make it an interesting food stop for shoppers and visitors.

Located on the fourth floor in the Leisure Land zone, it gives food lovers an opportunity to enjoy familiar North Indian flavours while taking a break from their shopping expedition.

My food trail continues!

One of the fascinating aspects of exploring India’s food culture is discovering how traditional recipes travel, evolve and find new audiences. From the streets of Amritsar to the modern food courts of Noida, Punjabi food continues to find admirers.

And my search for interesting Chole Bhature destinations continues, one plate at a time!

Over to you, fellow foodies!

Have you tried the Chole Bhature at K Se Kulcha? Would you visit a restaurant known for its kulchas specifically to try its Chole Bhature? And which other interesting or lesser-known destinations in Delhi NCR should I explore?

Share your experiences and recommendations in the comments. Who knows, your suggestion might become the next episode of my Chole Bhature Chronicles!
