Some of the best travel experiences are not about ticking attractions off a list but about discovering a place one story at a time. During my recent visit to Singapore, I found a delightful way to explore one of the city’s most historic neighbourhoods—the Chinatown Stamp Rally.
The adventure begins at the Chinatown Visitor Centre, where you can register and collect a complimentary Stamp Rally booklet. Inside is a map that guides you through some of Chinatown’s most iconic landmarks, cultural attractions, and hidden gems. Each stop reveals a different chapter of the neighbourhood’s rich history, heritage, and traditions.
At every designated location, participants can collect a unique stamp in the dedicated spaces provided within the booklet. The challenge is simple yet engaging: follow the route, uncover the stories behind each landmark, and gather all the stamps.

Rather than rushing through the trail, I completed the rally over three days, spending about an hour each day exploring the district at a leisurely pace. This allowed me to wander through bustling streets, admire historic architecture, discover colourful murals, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere that makes Chinatown so special.

The reward at the end is more than just completing a trail. Once all the stamps are collected, participants can return to the Visitor Centre and receive a complimentary souvenir postcard—a lovely keepsake from the experience.
What I enjoyed most was how the rally transformed sightseeing into an interactive treasure hunt. It encouraged me to slow down, look closer, and appreciate the stories hidden within Singapore’s oldest neighbourhoods.
If you’re visiting Singapore and looking for a fun, family-friendly, and meaningful way to explore Chinatown, the Stamp Rally is well worth your time. Sometimes the best souvenirs are not what you buy, but the memories you collect along the way.
