Chandramouleshwara temple at Hubbali Karnataka.

The Chandramouleshwara temple at Hubbali is an ancient shrine dedicated to Bhagavan Shiv.
A plaque near the entrance reports that to be an eight hundred-year-old structure.

I visited the Hoysaleshwar temple at Halebidu & this place in a brief span & discovered many similarities in both. Absence of a dome and also the presence of two Shivalingas stay the prominent one. The existence of Intricate carvings on the walls is yet another feature. However, that’s not as exquisite as at Halebidu.

I went to the site during Deepavali, i.e. the festival of lights. At that time, I stumbled upon a peculiar practice. The devotees carry a palanquin of the deity & dash around the temple in circles.

The persons were so deeply immersed in the ritual, making them unaware of any obstacles or the bystanders. I recovered from getting toppled by hopping on the side at the last moment!

Hey @C_T ,

Thank you for the great photos and sharing your experience at Chandramouleshwara temple. It’s always nice to gather with people and do something together. The facade of the temple is very beautiful. Do many people visit this place?

Thanks for the acknowledgement @MoniDi

That temple is a regular place of worship for the local community & many people visit that every day.
