Chai Pe Charcha at Sector I, Kolkata

So this is another episode of the popular initiative Chai Pe Charcha and the story of supporting local businesses through Google Maps. It was a month ago when I went to Sector I, Kolkata, to give an exam, as I am doing a distance course.

I and my classmates gave the exam at the exam center, and after it, we went for a small tea party. There I organised a Chai Pe Charcha session, and while enjoying the hot tea in the cold weather of January, I educated them on the concept of local guides program and motivated them on why they should start contributing to Google Maps.

After this session I have educated various shop owners about Google Maps especially those who were selling food & drink items there, how they can grow their businesses through Google Maps, and told them the basic features of it. The tea stall from where we bought the tea is just in front of the Directorate of Social Welfare.

I also add pictures of the front of the Directorate of Social Welfare and accessibility information to its POI. It was a successful Chai Pe Charcha session.
