Chai and Why- Mumbai

Chai is an essential tea beverage in India. Coming from the Mandarin word for tea (茶 chá) and the classical Hindustani word chai, it is seen as a great social equaliser in India. The rich and the poor, both come to the same stall and have chai. It is seen as a way where people from work bond and gossip, ranting about their bosses or relationships.

Exploring Mumbai on foot has seen me having pangs for chai. Cutting chai means fast chai, which is half a cup. Office goers or people on the go (salesmen for example) usually have cutting chai, and then go on about their day.

Most tea places in Mumbai are expensive and are listed on Google Maps. It is mainly for meetings for business executives and college students. The stall is where the majority go, but this aren’t listed on Google Maps. For over a year now, i have been collecting images and locations of these stalls, but can’t seem to list them down due to the following reasons.

1- The stalls have no name.

2- They are often at the intersection of roads, or are put up late at night outside stations.

Could someone help me understand a way how to list this?
