Centro Qosqo de Arte Nativo Cusco - Perú

Today I would like to talk about a place called “Centro Qosqo de Arte Nativo”, which is located in Cusco, Perú. It is very popular in the city of Cusco and the whole country as well. Most tourists visit this attraction because of its tradition and cultural background. In addition, is also part of almost any touristic tour, it´s quite affordable and relatively close to several hotels in the city.

The Qosqo Center for Native Art was founded in 1924. Its purpose is the conservation and collection of Folk Music and Dance of Cusco and Peru. At the moment, it has in its repertoire approximately 50 dances, hundreds of melodies of Cusco, great collection of traditional suits and musical instruments. They also have around 80 artists, who have participated in national and international festivals such as Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, the United States, Canada, and France.

The Qosqo Center presents daily performances of folk music and dance from various provinces, districts, and communities of Cusco, as well as a museum of traditional costumes and musical instruments. Visitors can appreciate carnival dances, rituals, warriors, and agricultural performances, accompanied by musical moments, we have for example the Carnival of Ink, Sonconacuy, Carnival Cusqueño, Dance Czechmarka, Catcca Carnival, RuniQuechunacuy, Dance Qoyacha, etc., where you can see the colorful, the costumes, the rhythm and the form of how to express our feelings through dance and music. It is part of the tourist ticket, and it is the only place where you can appreciate music and dance of Cusco every day, which is why a large number of visitors between national and foreign.
