Centaurus Mall Islamabad - The best example of ♿ Accessibility-friendly Place in Islamabad

Hello Everyone,

I’m not too old to Connect, but I’m observing and learning many great things here, and the best thing among them is to help those people by our Contributions who are gifted with different abilities by God. Yes, I’m talking about Contributions on :wheelchair: Accessibility on Connect.

Currently, I’m living in Islamabad, the Capital of Pakistan, and it’s the newest and most advanced city of Pakistan, where we can see some wonderful places, such as restaurants, museums, mountain areas, hiking areas, and shopping malls.

The best thing I feel among most of the places is that in the construction of these places, we can see care for Differently-abled people like :wheelchair: Accessible Ramps, Lifts, and Washrooms.

A couple of days ago, I visited The Centaurus Mall in Islamabad. “The Centaurus Mall” is one of the biggest Shopping Malls in Islamabad, the most popular and most busy place in the city.

Here we can find almost every National and many international brands under one roof, people from Islamabad and surrounding cities like Rawalpindi, Chakwal, and others visit here to shop for clothing, shoes, groceries, and other necessities of life. I want to share something about this place, which makes me proud, and I can figure it in the series of #GemsOfTheWorld Challenge where everyone is sharing the places of their countries that make them proud.

In the evening I went to buy some weekly groceries. I’ve been buying my stuff for the past few months, but as I mentioned above I observed many great things by the Local Guides Connect community. Now I was seeing the whole shopping mall through the eyes of a Local Guide.

I noticed :wheelchair: Wheelchair Accessible Ramp at the entrance, Washrooms for differently-abled people where they can easily move alone without taking help of anyone, Lifts &

escalator elevator stairs. So after noticing these Wonderful features of :wheelchair: Accessibility, I added them on Google Maps, because I believe my uploaded photos and reviews will help and guide many other people who have anyone in their family who is older, differently-abled, or a wheelchair user. So they can decide by these uploaded photos and my reviews very easily regarding their visit to any specific place like The Centaurus Mall Islamabad. Here is my review on Google Maps.

I’m thankful to the Connect forum and friends like @KashifMisidia @TusharSuradkar who are always ready to guide others and share their helpful tips, especially at Connect forum. That is helping to change the way of thinking and giving people a vision to ponder upon.

Excellent overview and accessibility check-up of the mall @Ainnie

You have an eye for detail and looking at the photos it does not appear that you are new to the world of the local guides

Also agree with your observation that we tend to look at everyday places that we knew for a long time from a new and different perspective after becoming a local guide.

Nice to see places from Islamabad since Connect mostly has stories from other places like Lahore and Karachi.

MashaAllah… Excellent piece of writing as far as the Accessibility is concerned.

We already have champion of Accessibility in shape of @KashifMisidia also a true leader as far as Google Connect and other Google APPs are concerned. He has been doing great work in this regard and more keen, dedicated and passionate about exploring the new and sharing his vast and great knowledge to others, whether they are from Pakistan, India or from any place or corner of the world.
Seeing you @Ainnie following his footsteps is itself is a big achievement and sky is the limit when you are motivated and determined to do the best. So hopefully, you are sure to touch new heights with your great work and dedication and we, the Google Local Guides and Connect Family, wish the best for your future endeavors and especially the upcoming master pieces at Connect.

This is a great example of disability - friendly places we have out there and thanks to you @Ainnie , we have more and more exposures on this so that others will be inspired to do and provide the same thing. We have many places here in Wellington as well as in Jakarta nowadays that are built with the attention to the need of our friends and families with disabilities

Thank you @TravellerG @for your kind words. Actually I came across @KashifMisidia and @TusharSuradkar ’s posts and learnt how important it is and started paying attention to this side of my reviews on Google Maps plus Google Maps every time throws questions about accessibility after I review any place and @KashifMisidia made me read @TusharSuradkar post to learn from them. I am happy now I have started paying attention to such details to the needs of our people who are differently abled.

Thank you @KashifMisidia @credit goes to you for teaching me and introducing to @TusharSuradkar , before I never paid enough heed to questions thrown by Google maps after every review. I have become little more mindful and sensitive about our people who need this assistance everywhere. May we all be helpful for our people with disabilities. Grateful for your guidance
