Cell phones have replaced two (2) products for many people around the world: still cameras and computers. The cell phone has brought the world together, and allowed us to share our lives to the millions of people globally. Cell phones have allowed a simple photo or video to go “viral”. Just 17 + years ago, there was no such thing as viral but it has become a word in our everyday life: kids and adults strive for that picture or video clip hoping that it goes viral, and turn them into overnight celebrities. For many, it works; for the rest of us…we’re still hopeful. Cell phone cameras are nearly as “smart” as DSLR and film cameras with respect of FoV, aperture, lighting and more. With the tap of a couple uttons on my camera, I have fairly close professional settings. I can zoom, tilt, focus and all sorts of things with my phone. I’m not here to argue with camera is best or worse, I’m here to illustrate what the camera phone has allowed us to do.
For all this and so much more, the cell phone (camera) is pure brilliance.
