In honor of National LEGO Day today, we wanted to take a moment to give you all a behind-the-scenes look at a fun area in the Google NYC office.
The LEGO-themed micro-kitchen is a shared space where Googlers can work, grab a snack, and also build and display an original LEGO creation. It’s complete with a Google logo created with LEGOs by LEGO artist Sean Kenney.
The LEGO workstation was part of the office from the beginning, but was revamped for the Google NYC 10 Year Celebration in 2018. At that time, the area was expanded to allow even more LEGO storage along the wall.
@KatieMcBroom — I am speechless! That is sooooo cool!
The most recent place was that visited was interesting or unique in terms of imagination and learning was at the [The Tech Interactive,](http://The%20Tech Interactive 201 S Market St, San Jose, CA 95113 (408) 294-8324 Google Maps)
an interactive, hands on science and technology museum during Connect Live 2019.
So jealous of those Lego creation stations, @KatieMcBroom !
My kids and I are Lego junkies and have built mini versions of ourselves at Lego stores.
My favorite place to create fun and unique things and express yourself is while visiting children’s museums. The following photo is of my youngest son, Raymond, interacting with a plastic pin art wall at the Huntersville Children’s Museum!
This is a great spot in the office @KatieMcBroom I really enjoyed the opportunity to visit late last year and was impressed say Google’s desire to support people when they need a moment to make things. Play is very important to adult health.
wow so jealous of something like that, it is just so fun. I think LEGO can capture always attention from anyone, when you enter a store for sure you will try to build something also if small and fast … imaging having that in the office everyday LOL .
I am sure this post will invoke a nostalgic feelings. For those had a lot of Legos in childhood , you never forget easily the joy that came when you got a new Lego toys. Even till date. I still visit Lego store wondering what I am doing there. I knew I won’t buy anything but I still visit anyway.it is purely impulsive .
Seeing these photos, I thought this was a legitimate LEGO store - WOW, @KatieMcBroom !
I think that is such a cool concept to blend a micro-kitchen with a fun and encapsulating activity such as building LEGO figures - especially with endless pieces from what it seems .
In Ukraine, lego zones are being created for children in schools, so they can play during the break. I think for adults the Lego zone is just a super idea. I would like to have such a zone in my office.
