BIG HELLO to LG friends!
I received an email from Google confirming that my photo of the shop BIG HELLO , uploaded on 20 March 2026, has surpassed 600,000 views in just four months.
That means the photo has been viewed about 5,000 times every day. It is now my 7th most viewed photo on Google Maps.
The photo was not planned. It is a storefront photo that I captured while I was on the go in Bengaluru, using my iPhone 13 in landscape mode. It’s wonderful to see that such a simple photo has helped so many people.
I think the number of views depends on many factors — including the quality of the photo, the importance of the POI, and the choice of AI.
I have learned a lot from friends @TravellerG, @TerryPG and @Rednewt74. Their helpful discussions in the Top 100 Leaderboards, Connect posts, and Local Guides meet-ups have given me valuable insights into taking better photos and making more meaningful contributions.
I want to thank Connect Moderator @MortenCopenhagen, for the practical photography tips during our meeting in Vizag, which encouraged me to improve how I take photos. I am still learning and haven’t been able to apply all of your suggestions yet, but even a few small changes have made a noticeable difference. Your encouragement continues to inspire me to keep improving.
This milestone motivates me to keep learning, sharing, and helping people through Google Maps.
Thank you to the Local Guide Connect friends for your support and encouragement. Happy mapping!
Cheers!
