Celebrating 10 Years of Local Guides mapping the world, together

Thank you @TiffanyBnyc for sharing this post ! This is an amazing summary of some of the best milestones we as a community achieved !
I would love to mention few my best colaborative series and achievements through the years of being a Local Guide :

  • 2020-2022 : I started #MapsForAll meet-up series that focused on meeting Local Guides on a monthly basis to learn, share tips & knowledge about accessibility, ways to help out Local businesses and reflect inclusivity on Maps ! We can also learn and do fun Map edits meet-ups focusing on making Maps Inclusive for all ! Hosting educative and fun learning meet-ups was the main motto of the meet-ups conducted through this series. I also was awarded the ‘Guiding Star-Inclusive Mapper’ twice , once on 2020 and once in 2022. I have some of the best memories of meet-up collabs and meeting new Local Guides across the globe during this period. I loved being a part of ‘Google Earth - Accessible Life’ project by @ErmesT and Accessibility Uncovered series by @EmekaUlor as a part of #OneAccessibility team !
  • 2023-2024 : I started the #GoGreenWithMaps which focuses on hosting meet-ups , learning , sharing tips & knowledge and highlighting local businesses that support the environment and help us to keep our earth green n clean through posts on Connect that help keep the earth green and clean and reflect Sustainability on Maps ! We had learning and doing fun Map edits meet-ups,challenges , trivia focusing on making Maps and Lists that support #ReduceReuseRecycle ! The Tokyo CM meet-up in Oct 2023 was the highlight of this period ! I got to meet many of my Connect Moderator friends and Googlers in person !
  • 2025 : I kicked off the year with #HandmadeHeritage series dedicated to supporting local artisans, celebrating their craftsmanship, and promoting small businesses worldwide. Throughout my time using the Connect platform and connecting with #LocalGuides globally, I’ve come to appreciate the unique arts and crafts each country has to offer ! These local artisans learn their family’s traditional art and come up with some of the most beautifully hand-crafted items ! I am glad to we have the Connect and Maps forum that allows us to explore diverse cultures, learn about their traditions, and support artisans by helping grow their businesses using Maps ! Together we can bring out the cultural richness of our heritage and help support local artisans and their local businesses !
Many more series like Lets Inspire on Connect & Beyond - Women & allied spotlight series upcoming up soon !

Wishing Google Maps a very Happy birthday ! :tada:
