When we go traveling, he’s my sidekick for research, helping me read all the reviews of potential places to go. Recently, he’s taken an interest in reviewing. However, he is still a minor. I have seen a few posts stating people under the age of 18 (minors) are not allowed to participate in the Local Guides program
However, I scoured the entire Local Guides Program Terms and Conditions and the Terms of Service and found:
• “In order to participate in the Program as a Local Guide, you must […] meet the age requirements for your country.”
• "Google Workforce for Education accounts that are under 18 years of age […] are not eligible for the Program
• “In order to participate on Connect as a Local Guide, you must be at least 18 years of age.”
My child is over 13, thus fulfilling the requirements of having a google account. Under age requirements, it made no mention that he needed to be at least 18. Additionally, he does not have whatever a “Google Workforce for Education” account is. Though it specified that you needed to be at least 18 to participate on this platform, from what I see, Local Guides Connect is a separate entity from the Local Guides system.
Because of my research, I think it is fine that he can write reviews and whatever he wants to do as long as he does not enter Local Guides Connect?
If anyone else has any other opinion, please help me. I don’t want to have him go through the troubles of being removed from Google because of unclear rules.
Please point me in the direction of any official google pages that state the age requirement clearly.
