I read that if you use the street view app (that is now not available now), you can add 360º photos. Is that possible now?
Hi again @nvg_localg .
Is your question about adding 360° photos in Google Maps, or about taking 360 photos with a mobile, like we did with the Street View App?
In any case the answer is yes:
- You can add 360° photos exactly in the same way you add regular (flat) photos: Add, remove & share photos or videos in Google Maps - Android - Google Maps Help
- You can take a 360° photo with your mobile if you have the proper feature in your device. I use a Pixel 7 and 360° photos are part of functions of the Photo App. Embedded here below a 360° photo that I took this morning with my mobile and I uploaded in Google Maps using the steps described above. You can rotate it directly here in Connect.
@nvg_localg
Yes possible! You can add 360º photos using phone.
@ErmesT inspired by the photo to try out 360s! People around here are always in such nice locations. Anyway, pixel 8 here, so I had to grab the old version of the camera app, and uploaded my first couple of spheres in lunch break
Nice image, @Steve_UK
Just a tip: spread your legs before shooting the nadir, otherwise the ghost feet enter the image.
@ErmesT lmao, i was wondering what the trick was because I noticed your pic didn’t have a pair of shoes, I’m just leaning over like some weirdo trying to sort it out haha.
For some reason my second one won’t even attempt to upload. I’ve added it a few times and it doesn’t show in the recent photos. Tried photo and update, but I never even get the uploading photo notification. will do some testing to see what works or not
Hehe, @Steve_UK , I know it’s a bit tricky.
The most important thing to remember when taking a 360° photo with your phone is to always keep the phone in the same place. We are the ones who have to move around the phone, while the phone always remains on the same axis and at the same height. This makes the operation quite comical for those who watch us, especially when we photograph Azimuth and Nadir.
Also lines, especially horizontal ones, can create stitching errors. However, if you work well the result can be fantastic
Will work on it @ErmesT , appreciate the info.
Thanks @ErmesT, do you know how?
Thanks @Designer_Biswajit! Do you know how to do it?
Thanks for the tip!
It’s hard to respond without an answer from you.
Yes, @nvg_localg
Quoting from my first reply:
I request to @MahabubMunna can help you!
Thanks for tagging me @Designer_Biswajit and I want to add something with @ErmesT that is you can take a single photo using any 360-degree photo-taking application and upload it to Google Maps,
but if you want to add more than one photo like Street View you will have to use the help of third party application,
the facility of connecting through Street View app has been stopped,
you can record video on Pixel or Samsung device or record video on the latest 360 camera [ Support Article : Create and publish your own Street View imagery ] and do Street View through this platform Street View Studio and tutorial : How to use Street View Studio
Thank you @MahabubMunna
