Can I link my blog in my google reviews?

I’m a food blogger and I also write google reviews. Was wondering if it’s against policy or anything to link my blog post about the specific place in my google review. This may sound redundant but I and others notice Google hides reviews that are over ~800 words for some reason.

Hi @victor35

Welcome to Connect :handshake:

Although this is strictly not prohibited, it is expected that the content should be original.

I’d suggest you write an original piece for Connect and link your photos from the blog here.

Merely linking a blog post at the end of an article should be fine. if there is enough interesting and original already written in the post.

Here’s a guideline from Google about content in a Connect Post.

Looking forward to interesting posts from you…

If you are referring to a review on Google Maps sharing a link to a blog or any website is strictly prohibited and the review will immediately be hidden or flagged.

Thank you for asking @victor35

Adding a link in your review is strictly forbidden, as you can read in Format Specific Criteria “Don’t use reviews for advertising purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, posting email addresses, phone numbers, social media links, or links to other websites in your reviews”

As @TusharSuradkar gave you the correct answer, I am flagging hes reply as a solution.

The scope is to help others with the same question to find the correct answer. For more details please read: How do I mark comments as solutions?

That was very decent of you to have asked the question @victor35 and one should be cautious and well-informed about the various rules and sensitivities of Google online platforms especially Google Maps.

It keeps both your profile safe and Google Maps spam free :+1:

Hello @victor35 ,

Thank you for reaching out!

Just to let you know that, I have moved your post to the How-tos section, the place where Local Guides ask questions related to Connect and Google Maps.

Please forgive me if I appear naïve or uninformed on this topic…

While I understand some of the underlying reasons for not allowing reference to outside blogs, etc. I’m a little disappointed. Let me explain… I just created what I think is a nice, positive “post” here in Local Guides Connect that relates specifically to an experience at a local restaurant. It includes 9 different photos and guides the reader through the restaurant as well as my experience. My hope is that I could make it available to anyone that searches for the restaurant via Google Maps (other than just writing a review - I’d like my post to be the review).

Is there another recommended way to share this outside of Local Guides Connect? Or link it to the business?

I share it here for reference purposes:
