Can I become a Streetview car driver?

Dear Google Maps Team, As an active Google Maps user, I frequently encounter significant mapping errors on routes across Turkey. Often, non-existent roads are suggested as alternative routes, or major infrastructure updates—such as newly constructed roads—are completely missing from the system. This situation negatively impacts the navigation experience. Rather than simply reporting issues, I want to be part of the solution myself. I propose personally updating the map data by driving across Türkiye and systematically covering all the problematic routes. To bring this project to life, I request that your company provide the vehicle for data collection and the necessary 360-degree camera equipment. The key advantage of investing in me for this role is my background as a professional camera maintenance and repair technician. I am fully qualified to handle the setup of high-tech imaging systems, perform daily maintenance, and repair any hardware malfunctions that might occur in the field. This allows me to address technical issues or equipment glitches immediately on-site—ensuring operations continue without interruption—eliminating the need to send the device back to a service center. I am ready to collaborate with you to rectify these mapping errors in Turkey by taking on the dual role of driver and field-based “mobile technical support specialist.” I look forward to hearing from you regarding this position or a similar contractual arrangement. Best regards, Yunus Ertaş [REDACTED] A Quick Tip After sending this email, you might also want to research the subcontractor firms that collect data on behalf of Google in Türkiye (usually logistics or major tech infrastructure companies) and send the same message to them. Companies are always keen to consider a ready and eager candidate who possesses the necessary technical skills.

Hi @Yunusertas

Welcome to Connect.

As another volunteer, I just wanted to mention how we can improve roads.

You can draw new roads using the road editor in Maps.

You can fix faulty navigation steps using these steps.

You can add blue Streetview lines by using your own car and camera as explained here.

I have not seen Google providing cars and gear to volunteers. But you can keep an eye out for new Streetview driver jobs here:

Best of luck

PS Maybe @Zdenek has some better tips to share with you. He makes a lot of blue lines on Google Maps.

I changed your heading and tags to better reflect the content of your topic.

I think you forgot to remove some text from your AI at the end of your post.

Hello @Yunusertas,

Just to let you know, I removed the phone number and email address from your comment for privacy reasons.
