Can I advertise my own website when I promote the local movie theater?

Hey,

I need to ask you this question.

I have an agreement with a local movie theater owner that I can give him a campaign to promote the movie theater.

I’m not sure if I can do the following, so I’m asking you to comment on this?

I have a website that would offer people to look for other people to go to movies with them.

It’s totally free to use. So it won’t give me any money if I use it here.

if I connect it with the movie theater campaign, I will gain subscribers and fans.

Is that against the rules?

What you do on your website is your own choice, while you don’t mix your website with your Local Guides contribution

The program rules are related to your contributions on Google Maps or in Connect as a Local Guide

It said somewhere in the rules, in prohibited and restricted issues, that I can’t show any deals on my review of the establishment.

So, I think that it’s not suitable to advertise my website in my review.

I would need to offer a deal to join the website and go to the movies.

So, I’m not going to use the website URL there.

@Brandnameora Correct me if I’m wrong, but if my understanding is correct, the promotion and campaign will be on your own website? If that’s the case, then that should be ok.

But you definitely can’t put website links or explicitly do promotion on your Google Maps review. But if it’s just between the movie theatre and your website, I really don’t see any issue as long as you don’t mention or relate to Local Guides.

Advertising on the reviews is strictly prohibited, as you have already seen, and as @iyudhi confirmed too

And I really appreciate it that you and @ErmesT have given me advice.

And I do understand that what the LG community is all about. It’s to give the power of our reviews to all the people, not just for the rich ones.

This way all the LG community guides have the same value of our voice from the getgo and I absolutely love the appreciation.

This way I have a footing to lift my own region’s businesses and sight’s. And I am really enjoying the chance to do this.

And I promise you that I will do my best to do good reviews and give good photos too.
