Camping in the Sahara desert (Merzouga)-first in my life

An old Saharan proverb says: 「God created water to cleanse the body and desert to purify the soul.」

In Morocco, the day in the morning, we departed from Fez and headed to Merzouga, expecting to see the spectacular sunset in the Sahara desert in time.

When arriving at the Erfoud, we needed to change some personal belongings to a small easy-carrying bag that we were able to take to a luxury camp tent in the Sahara desert and we took the mid-size jeep into the desert to experience the sunset in the desert near Erg Chebbi.

Fortunately, we got to the desert near Merzouga in time. When in the desert, we were riding camels led by the local Moroccan young man who must be the Berbers, roamed around the desert and witnessed the sun falling behind the desert. What an amazing feeling !!!

Upon an unparalleled personal experience, I stayed in the luxury desert camp tent for one night in the Sahara desert. I can’t believe that I had this luck.

The next morning, I hiked again to see the unique sunrise in the desert. Watching the sun rise in the east, the sky turning from dark red to bright, the desert shining with dreamlike gold was unforgettable.

After enjoying my first desert camp breakfast, we continued to explore the desert by jeep.

Merzouga is a small oasis city located in the Sahara in southern Morocco. It has a typical desert climate and sunny skies all year round. Erg Chebbi is a famous local attraction, also known as the Merzouga Dunes group, which is one of the two largest dunes in Morocco.
