[Cambodian Food] Where can you find these fresh in Cambodia?

Cambodia has great soil which produces so good agricultural crops naturally and organically.

There are special regions where you can find these best fresh and tasty produces. Some of them have to be grown in the farms and some are grown at home, in the garden. Some of them grown nationwide and some of them only grown at specific regions.

Below, I will categorize produces by regions or province.

Kompot, a coastal area where soil has produced the best and tasty products.

  • Very famous for its world quality-pepper, and best quality. Pepper grown at other regions are not comparable and also has lower price. Tours in the pepper plantation are possible, with different languages too. Google map for some of the farms are here.
  • Very famous for its durian (May-June). Locals normally go the farm for fresh products.

Koh Kong, a coastal area with rainforest and rich soil

  • Durian from there is also a good quality
  • Honey pineapple (April-May)
  • Rambutan (April-May) - April is the harvesting season
  • Mangosteen (April-May)

Mondulkiri/Ratanakiri, northeastern part of Cambodia famous for red soil from the crater of volcano.

  • Fresh and tasty avocado in dry season, especially froom Ratanakiri. February or dry season is the best season for this taste.
  • Passion

Kompong Speu - the land of palm trees

  • Palm Sugar (Dec-April, before rainy season)

Battambang - the land of paddy field

  • Orange
  • Longan, Phnom Penh also has the best one at Koh Krobey - February to April is the season

Other regions - countrywide can be planted various plants and fruit trees.

  • Mango, Coconut are grown nationwide, Jackfruit, banana and many others are grown nationwide

Is that a Jackfruit that you are holding @Sophia_Cambodia

I remember one such tree in India but the fruit was hanging directly from the trunk and not from the branches.

Through your posts, you bring out the freshness of Cambodia.
