I recently visited an Optometrist and a few days after the visit I received an email asking if I would be interested in completing a short 2 minute survey providing feedback about my experience and a chance to win $250. It was a very positive visit and the service was remarkable to say the least so I was more than happy to complete the survey. A screenshot of the request for feedback is shown below.
As a Local Guide, what really interested me was the fact that at the end of the online survey, the Optometrist invited me to also share my feedback on Google Reviews. Google Reviews I thought?
I was interested to see where this would lead and once again because of the positive experience at this Optometrist, I obliged. On clicking the button I was seamlessly redirected to the Optometrist’s listing on Google Maps! I added a review and a couple of photos.
It’s clear that this business values Google reviews and I have to say that I was impressed with the seamless process and integration of the request for feedback and the final integration with Google Maps. AN all-round very interesting experience!
No not at all @MortenCopenhagen but perhaps your comment was a tongue n cheek one. However, just for the record, as I wrote in the post i_t was a very positive visit and the service provided by this business was remarkable to say the least_ In fact, as I always do, I had already given the business a rating and I use this to remind me to add my photos that I had taken and write a review later. My post here was more about the innovative process that this business adopts to invite people to add reviews on Google Maps
Saludos
Could you please explain further what your query is about so we can advise you? How it is related to the Local Guide program and the topic you posted it under?
No @Maximilianozalazar and for me it wasn’t about the $250 and besides, if you read it carefully, the $250 was not a possible reward for writing a Google review, it was about providing the business feedback on its own platform about it’s service. The service was excellent and I planned to write a review anyway and because of this I took some photos and also gave the business a rating on Google Maps as I left the store. This is the strategy I have always used and you can read about this strategy in my Tip: A Level 10 Local Guide’s Maps Reviewing strategy post. So because the service was so great, when I got the email I did the survey and provided feedback about my experience.
So the survey and the $250 had nothing to do with the Google Maps review which I had already planned to write. It is very interesting how businesses look for ways to get a review and this is what interested me in this case and what my post is really all about Over the years I have seen some stores with signs with words along the lines “We’re on Google Maps and we welcome your reviews” or “We have a 5 star rating on Google Maps and welcome your review” so for me this optometrist took a totally different approach to what I had seen before.
They clearly value their customer’s input on Google, as well. The process was as simple as scanning the QR code! It instantly popped up with the following screen:
Another great example on what my post is about @Mikeinthefalls , businesses do value Google Reviews and it is interesting to see the different methods that they use to encourage customers/clients to add reviews on Maps.
That’s fantastic @AdamGT . Here in our country also now a days business owners are keen to get surveys and feedback on their products and services. As you said as a LG anyways when we take photo of the places we visit, we write the reviews and wherever links are there, full the surveys as well. This is one of the good Practices do follow.
Just a query here, sometimes back one of the CMs was suggesting not to mention any person’s name in the Review else it will be hidden.
And, offcourse due to this suggestion I revised my couple of reviews to remove person’s name. And, as a result of this even my public reviews now became hidden.
So, wondering, can we mention the name as you have mentioned in your review for Ammie, Uma and Fatima.
