Business uses my photo (copy photo and upload it)

Some days ago I uploaded a photo to this business.

The photo was featured, but today I saw that the same image was uploaded by the business and now it is featured.

What would you do in my situation?

Best regards

Wow. I have never seen this happen before, @Varsin . And both are visible on the listing right now!

It says copyrights might be reserved on your copy.

I’m tagging @DeniGu for you to take a look at this.

In my opinion this is not okay. Let’s see how Google reacts to this.

Please preserve the high res photo in your phone should evidence be needed.

Cheers

OMG, @Varsin

They took a screenshot of your photo: the quality of their upload is definitely lower.

If course, as you are the copyright owner, you can claim a Legal Issue with the business, asking for the screenshot uploaded by them to be taken down…

However this is an interesting case, and it would be quite unfair to fight with the business you want to help.

What about to simply call them asking to take down the screenshot?. As your photo is the only one uploaded on the POI, it is not so difficult to see which one is the original one

That’s an unusual case @Varsin

One aspect perplexes me. The place has reviews and ratings, which are two to five years old. Further, there are numerous photos on the Facebook page & official website of the academy. However, there was a single banner on Maps, which was uploaded by the owner in 2016. That’s surprising.

The owner has claimed the place & there are contact details on the website.
Although, I do not suggest to contact the proprietor as the copyright infringement action may be a decoy to make you reach; it would be interesting to know if you have already done so.

@C_T @DeniGu @ErmesT @MortenCopenhagen thanks for your answers.

I have contacted the store and they will remove my picture they uploaded. It seemed that this happened automatically.

PS: They already have delete their picture.

Good that they were able to manually act over the Automatic mechanism, @Varsin

Happy that it has been fixed now
