On my recent visit to New York, I had the opportunity to visit Bushwick Collectives, which is located in Brooklyn NY. Bushwick, Brooklyn is a neighborhood with vibrant street art. The Bushwick Collective is an open-air exhibition space, transforming entire streets into a canvas for renowned and up-and-coming street artists.
Another interesting thing about this area is artists keep adding and changing the murals. In fact during my visit I watched couple of artists involved in painting the new mural
Founded in 2012 by Joseph Ficalora, the Bushwick Collective has created a new life into the neighborhood. What began with a single donated wall has blossomed into a sprawling collection of ever-changing murals through out the town.
Walking through Bushwick is like stepping into a giant art walk. Turn a corner and you might come face-to-face with a portrait, a thought-provoking social commentary, or an explosion of color and form. i was told the murals are constantly evolving, ensuring a fresh experience on every visit.
It is also a hub of creativity. The Bushwick Collective isn’t just about the art on the walls; it’s about the artists themselves. The project fosters a collaborative spirit, bringing together local, national, and international talent. Each year, the Bushwick Collective Block Party draws even bigger crowds, transforming the neighborhood into a vibrant celebration of street art.
The Bushwick Collective is centered around Troutman Street and St. Nicholas Avenue, but murals can be found throughout the neighborhood.Be sure to pack your camera! You’ll want to capture all the amazing artwork.
Also I saw several guided group tours during the visit, that is another way to explore and also learn more about artists.
The Bushwick Collective is a must-see for any art enthusiast visiting New York City. The best way to experience the open-air gallery is on foot. The Bushwick Collective is a place to let your creativity flow. explore the hidden corners, and keep an eye out for that next artistic gem waiting to be discovered. .
I specially like this mural. It is really very beautiful how the artists has created this.
I found several murals of astronauts. Looks like it is a popular theme with the artists.
Look at this so may vibrant colors. Just amazing!
There is lot of walking involved, wear comfortable shoes. If you have a bicycle it is even better.
