Bug or Glitch? Google Maps prompting for reviews on places I've already reviewed

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share a strange behaviour I recently noticed on Google Maps and see if anyone else in the community has experienced the same thing.

As a Level 10 Local Guide who contributes frequently, I’m always keeping an eye on prompts to review places I’ve visited. Recently, Maps has started asking me to provide a rating and review for a location that I have already reviewed in the past.

I’ve attached a screenshot below where you can clearly see the prompt asking for a new review, while my previous rating and review are sitting right there on the same screen!

Has anyone else noticed this loop occurring with their profile lately? I’m curious if this is a widespread glitch or just a temporary bug on my end.

I just hate the prompts in Google Maps so I always ignore them. All such notifications are turned off.

They will often suggest I upload a photo I already uploaded!

No thanks from me.

This is a well known issue, reported several times, @Manishhh
Before to write a review I always check if I already wrote a review in the listing

Not a bug on your end @Manishhh. It has been reported many times here on Connect, but so far Google never reacted on that. The worst thing is. these notifications encourage many users to upload duplicate media, which is against the rules.
