There’s nothing I love more than brunching. Everything about brunching makes me happy: you get to get tipsy and sober up early, great food and great time with people you enjoy being around. During this time of the year, it is a struggle for me to leave the house! I hate wearing layers and I hate being cold so I occasionally I make brunch at home. Different food options, booze, the whole nine yard.
Recently, I visited a friend for a couple of days in South Carolina. The first two nights, we went out but that Sunday it was way too cold. I must say we were feeling too cozy to try to go anywhere so we decided to bring the vibes home.
We made a few things that I will share with you all, and hopefully you’ll be able to make your own for your family, boo or friends! The dishes we put together were grits, parfait, omelette, mimosa and fruit salad.
Ingredients for grits:
-
1 Cup of grits
-
1 Cup of water
-
1 Cup milk or half and half
-
2 Tablespoons of butter
Instructions for grits:
First, you’re going to need to wash your grits. In a pot, melt your butter and add the milk. Bring the grits into the mixture and stir from time to time. As the grits start to thicken, add water until it’s fully cooked. Some people like to add salt but I prefer leaving plain; that way the individuals who like it with sugar can also enjoy it.
Ingredients for omelette:
-
Eggs
-
Bell peppers
-
Onion
-
Meat of your choice (I used ham)
-
Cheddar cheese
Instructions for omelette:
Although every one knows how to make omelette; I figured adding the instructions would be useful. Dice your ham, bell peppers and onion. In a bowl, crack your eggs, add a bit of milk for fluffiness and cheese. Whisk it and prepare your pan. Use a bit of butter of spray oil to grease the pan and turn your heat on medium. Add your diced ham and veggies. Stir for a bit. Add egg mixture to pan and scramble!
Ingredients for parfait:
-
Yogurt
-
Granola
-
Honey
-
Fruits of your choice
Steps for parfait:
This is a straight forward process but I’ll explain the way I like it. (I typically purchase the honey coated granola.) Add granola to the container of your choice. Pour yogurt. Add the fruits of your choice. Drizzle with some honey…and yum!!
Ingredients for mimosa:
-
Champagne
-
Juice of your choice
I’ve attached pictures of my girls’ brunch. Hope you enjoy!! If you make any of this please share with me in the comments! ?
