One of the security at the building told me I can use the place for praying too which is very kind of him. It requires a code to unlock the door for the facility in my building @Supriyadevkar

Hi @Supriyadevkar thanks for sharing this informative post. Such awareness initiatives are truly meaningful and valuable :handshake:

I completely agree that we must look out for facilities such as feeding rooms and make sure to add them to our reviews and Maps.
Like you even I became aware of this important feature during Connect Live Bengaluru 2025, where @Globe_trotter_Ish women-led initiative beautifully highlighted women’s safety and essential facilities for women.

Since then, looking out for such facilities wherever I go has become an inherent part of my travels.
Recently, during my visit to Sikkim, I was delighted to spot a feeding room at a tourist spot. It genuinely brought me a sense of joy and satisfaction because it conveyed a simple but powerful message: “We care for you”

As Local Guides, I believe noticing and highlighting such facilities can help create greater awareness and make places more inclusive and welcoming for everyone.

@Supriyadevkar, what a wonderful and necessary post! :raising_hands:

A Small Space, A Big Need", you couldn’t have said it better!

I always try to include nursing room details in my reviews whenever I can. It’s an essential amenity that gives nursing parents so much peace of mind. :two_hearts: I was actually so happy when Google Maps approved my edit for a mom pod at a mosque in Singapore while I was there for Connect Live late last July!

Seeing small, vital spaces like that officially mapped makes such a huge difference. Thanks so much for spotlighting this topic! :heart_hands:

World Breastfeeding Week already passed, but for moms it’s an entire year! :spiral_calendar: Check my post here :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Very true dear friend @Supriyadevkar
Very well written post
 very informative and helpful

Thanks for sharing these details

In Bangalore, many hospitals and clinics, especially Paediatric ones offer free breastfeeding facilities - of course, many malls also offer the same.

Yes, that’s true, @TravellerG
I found it locked too when I took this photo in Lalbag.

But I was happy to see that it existed

In Maharashtra, these booths are typically at Bus Stations and in malls
The authorities there open the booth on request.

They keep it locked to prevent misuse.
