Bousra Waterfall of Mondulkiri, most popular for decades

In my previous articles about Top Five Waterfall in Cambodia, I listed Busra Waterfall as the first in the list. The waterfall has long been very popular among locals. Perhaps it was discovered before others or perhaps the size is immense.

Today, I would like to bring you to the waterfall.

Profile of the waterfall

The waterfall is located Pich Chenda district, about 43km northeast of Sen Monorom town of Mondulkiri province (Google map to the waterfall is here.). There are three stages of waterfalls. It is wide and tall, max of height is 25m in rainy season and much less in dry season.

  • First Stage: The waterfall fall is 8 - 12 meters high and 15 meters wide in rainy season and 10 - 15 meters wide in dry season. People often go to this one more than other two.
  • Second Stage: 15 - 20 meters high of waterfall, reaches 20 meters wide in rainy season. 18 - 25 meters high of waterfall with only 13 meters wide in dry season. The distance between 1st - 2nd stage is 150 meters. There are walking paths between the twos.
  • Third Stage: almost inaccessible as there are no marked paths towards it, a dangerous wildlife inhabited area and the speeding of waterflow is stronger than other twos.

Accessible: by both motorbike and car.

Entrance fee (environmental &management fee)

  • 1,000 Riels or 0.25$/person (locals),
  • 1$/person (foreigners)

I loved some waterfall shots, dear @Sophia_Cambodia

The one with the caption “How Big it is” - is excellent.

Some Landscape shots (in the collage) are also good.

Well, they were shot since 2009 my first trip to the site @TravellerG ! Thank you for admiration from photographer’s perspectives. I used a very small digital camera at that time. Phone were not very popular like today.

I revisited the site in 2018. There are a lot of improvement now. They even have zipline over the waterfall which I did not feature here.

Hehe, thank you @MAHBUB_HYDER in facts those photos were taken in 2009, 12 years ago so I was kind of skinnier compared to now.

At that time, I used a very small digital camera - no phone or big camera like today.
