Blu Gelateria, from Italy to Peru

Hello, my friends,

Today I want to tell you about a place I visited based on a recommendation last weekend. This is Blu Gelateria, also called Blu Il Gelato del barrio. Some friends told me about an ice cream shop in the district of Barranco that despite being very small, many people went and made long lines to try their ice cream. I went with my family on Saturday and I was not disappointed, this place is even better than I had heard. It is true, it is a small place but excellently located in high traffic and bohemian area of Barranco. The staff very well uniformed and smiling, gave us to try practically all the flavors before buying, they had a lot of patience with my daughters especially (believe me on this, both my girls are loud!). Back to the story, the texture of this fabulous ice cream was something else, pure fruit pulp, and varied flavors. My wife was super happy because she found for the first time in Lima Quito Quito ice cream, which is a typical Oxapampa fruit (I have written several posts from this city located in the Jungle of Peru). When tasting this flavor you realize the quality, it is exactly the same taste of the fruit, with nothing different. They also have other delicious typical Peruvian fruits such as lucuma, and Aguaymanto. You can also order a cappuccino to mix it up a little bit. :icecream: :ice_cream: :coffee:

The price-quality is great because this ice cream is not as expensive as one imagines, approximately 3 dollars for two scoops of cone ice cream, good deal!. This small place has a second floor with 5 tables, it is not large but very well decorated, with light pastel colors and excellent warm lighting. In summary, very happy about what I enjoyed in this place, I dare to say that it is the best ice cream shop in Lima and I say considering that I have visited dozens of ice cream shops in recent years. Recommended place !!!

Hey, @marcorp you are mentioning here the magic word: Gelato

I am so jealous, Gelato for me means Summer, Sun, and Vacation.

I love Gelato, and I enjoy it from Springtime to Autumn.

I love to discover new Gelaterie, so when this one opened, I added them immediately on Maps.

my review in exchange :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @marcorp ,

Very nice post, and nice gelateria!

Galato is something very common here, a word to which you cannot resist as @ErmesT mentioned hehe.

The gelateria looks very nice, and I’m proud of the fact that is run by an Italian girl  .

Thank you for the tag!

The only thing that came to my mind when I went through your post was - Ice cream is happiness condensed @marcorp . :]

Do you know that authentic gelato should be scooped with a spade or paddle, not ice cream scoop? I believe that it was served to you exactly as it should, right?

It is great that you shared a review of the Blu Gelateria on Google maps, It would be really useful for future customers who are looking for more information about the place before visiting them.

Keep it up.
