As the crisp December air settles over Pune, a familiar buzz takes hold. It’s the time for Bhimthadi Jatra, a unique carnival that breathes life into the Agricultural College Ground in Shivaji Nagar.The jatra unfolded once again, from December 21st to 25th, 2023 woven with the threads of empowerment, tradition, and commerce.

Bhimthadi Jatra champions the spirit of women entrepreneurship.With Over 100+ stalls, each brimming with a tale of grit and skill, showcase the handiwork of women’s self-help groups. From intricately woven textiles and hand-painted pottery to mouthwatering regional delicacies and artisanal home decor, the jatra is a treasure trove of local talent.

This is the perfect location to experience the unique culture of Maharashtra, and even though I missed it this year, I just love the cheerful spirit and vibrant artwork and food here.

Our culture has always supported women; we simply forget about it sometimes, and these kinds of exhibits serve as a helpful reminder.
