Assalamualaikum Local Guides,
I hope you are all doing great! It’s my pleasure to share the very important and historical tourist place called Bhawal Rajbari at Joydebpur of Gazipur district.
The famous Bhawal Pargana is the history is today’s Gazipur. Among many historical signs of Bhawal Kingdom, there are the Royal Place, Madhab Mandir (Temple) and the Royal Tank, the Royal Cremation Ground, Royal Garden, and the Kacharies (Land Office).
During the Liberation War in 1971, this Royal Place was used as the Headquater of 17 East Bengal Regiment. Noted that is inspired by the historic 7th March speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, those were the people of Gazipur who made the very first armed resistance of our Liberation War on the 19th March against Pakistani Army. The 1st Prime Minister of the Government of Bangladesh during Liberation War Bhangataj Shahid (martyred) Taj Uddin Ahmed is also from this Gazipur. Mainly, Joydebpur was the center of the Bhawal Rule.
Note: At present, the Bhawal Barbari is being used as the office of the Deputy Commissioner.
