A very famous love story is also related to this city which was written by the great poet of Sindh Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Here we had the opportunity to hear in detail the folklore love story of Sassui Punnhun by our Guide, which is very interesting,I bet If you once started to read this folklore you will defiantly read it til end.
There were the sons of Mir Pawan Khan (Mir Dostin Hoth), the son of Mir Ali who was the chief of the famous Hoth tribe of Mir Hoth Khan Baluchistan.
Sassui was the daughter of the king of Bhambhore (now in Sindh). Upon her birth, astrologers told the king that the girl was a Bad omen for the royal family. The king put the girl in a Box of wood and thrown it into the Indus River. Their was a washer man washing cloths on the river bank catched this box and saw the girl, He took the child as a gift of God and raised her like his own child.
When Susie was young, her beauty discussions spread every where. When Punnhun heard about Sassui, the young prince started traveling towards Bhambhore. The Punnhun went to Sassui’s father. Upon first sighting Sassui at his house, he was mad to marry with Sassui. He asked Sassui’s father He wanted to get married,The washer man asked him if you are a washer man then it is possible and asked him that you have to prove that you are a washer man. Because the prince was unfamiliar with the washcloth, he failed to wash his clothes.
He concluded a solution that he put a gold coin in the pocket of each cloth. On which all the villagers praised her washing and Sassui’s father prepared to marry with him. The father and brothers of Punnhun were against this marriage, and at the order of his father,Punnhun’s brothers came to Bhambhore so that he could be banished from the marriage. The brothers tried to explain the Punnhun and but he refused then they adopted another method. Apparently they agreed to the marriage of the Punnhun and also participated in the wedding of the Punnhun where they gave the Punnhun too much Drinking alcohol that made him unaware of himself. They tied the Punnhun on a camel and brought him to their hometown of Kech Makran. The next morning when Sassui realized that she had been cheated on, she walked barefooted towards the city of Punnhun in a state of anger and grief. On the journey, he had to go through a dry desert, but he did The journey continued. Throughout the journey, she kept crying. In extreme thirst he found a shepherd who gave him drinking water. After seeing her beauty The intention of the shepherd was bad, Sassui ran away and prayed to the God to hide it. God heard her, the earth was broken and she fell into it.
The next day when the Punnhun came to their senses, he too ran towards the Bhambhore, crying Sassui. On the way, he met the same Shepherd who narrated the whole episode. The Punnhun prayed the same to their God and the earth again clashed and the Punnhun too fell into it and found themselves buried in the valley of the same mountain where Sassui was buried. This legendary tomb still exists today.
