Where do you think is the Best Viewpoint you have visited?
To me, the Best Viewpoint I have visited is on a hill in Traben-Trarbach, one of the most lovely wine towns in Germany. This town is located on a bend of the Mosel River, which makes the best scenery. So today I am proud to share you my journey to visit the Best Viewpoint in this charming town.
I was on vacation, by myself, to Germany in April 2015. It was a day trip, by train, from Cochem Station to Traben-Trarbach, a twin town along Mosel River. There was no direct train, so I changed the train at Bullay Station. The total trip took about 40 minutes, including the transfer time. The last stop is Traben-Trarbach Station, located on the Traben side, which I got off at. It was not a sunny day, so I decided to firstly visit Grevenburg Castle Ruins which is a famous attraction, then I would explore the town later. The trail head is on Trarbach side, just a few minutes walk from the Bridge Gate.
It took me about an hour hiking up the hill with some photo stops. It is an easy hike so everyone can come. After walking up for a while, there was a nice view of vineyard and Trarbach, so I stopped at this point to rest and take some photos.
Walking further, there was a magnificent view of Traben town, which is on the valley. The view was so tempting that I had to stop for some shots again.
I then continued hiking to the top and I was like WOW. The view of Grevenburg Castle Ruins with Traben in the background is so amazing. For the cover photo of this post, I took the stairs of the Castle Ruins and clicked that great shot. I would say that this is one of the Best Viewpoint I have visited. This viewpoint is absolutely worth to visit.
There was a cafe up there but it was being renovated at that time. It was very peaceful as there was only a few visitors. I noticed that they came by a car, so if you drive, you can come to the top in a short time.
I spent some time there to enjoy the stunning panoramic view and also enjoy myself. Then I went back down to explore the town. Another point that I stopped for clicking is the Bridge Gate, the landmark of the town.
It was raining in the afternoon, so instead of exploring the town, I went for a cafe and had some refreshments. I’m glad I went for the viewpoint first or I would miss it because of the rain. Later in the late afternoon, I went back to Cochem with the impression of the Best Viewpoint in Traben-Trarbach, Germany.
I would suggest you to go for this Viewpoint if you visit Germany. I hope my story and a few facts that I share would help you to plan your getaway in some ways. Thank you so much for reading my post, hope you enjoy it.
