One of the most popular things to do on vacation is probably watching the sunset. It’s such a relaxing activity that can be done by almost anyone. And there nothing most beautiful than watching the sunset on a beach. That’s why I’m sharing with you my personal list of most breathtaking places to watch the sunset in Cape Cod.
Pro tips: You have to pay to go to most beaches in Cape Cod. But if you go after 4:30 pm, the parking is free.
Herring Cove beach
Herring Cove beach is located at the end of Cape Cod, in Provincetown. It’s one of the farthest beaches. It’s facing the Atlantic ocean. If you’re lucky, you might be able to see a seal or two while watching the sunset. Check the schedule of the National Seashore, you might be able to enjoy a free storytime with the Rangers around the fire.
First Encounter beach
If you rather have warmer water, you’ll get it on the bayside of Cape Cod. First Encounter Beach is located in Eastham. You’ll be able to walk very far in the water to enjoy a beautiful sunset as the slope is really gentle. The sunset is absolutely beautiful there. Unfortunately, the sky wasn’t on our side when we went there, so please, enjoy this picture instead.
Breakwater beach
There are two breakwater beaches in Cape Cod. But the one located in Brewster is really a hidden gem. The beach is rather small (as the parking lot) but it’s probably the place where you’ll be able to take some of the most wonderful pictures on the Cape. When the tide is low, you’ll even get to take pictures near boats anchored on the sand. Once again, the sky wasn’t collaborating when we went there, so please enjoy these beautiful pictures instead ( 1 2 3.)
Old Silver beach
If you want to enjoy a tropical island feeling, you’ll get it at Old Silver Beach, Falmouth. The white sand is simply perfect for taking a beautiful picture. The slow slope will also let you go far in the water when the tide is low. It’s probably one of my favourite spots in Cape Cod.
