Hello, Everyone, as summer is kicking around, I thought to myself why not post some of the best, unique, variety Ice Cream spots in Greater Lansing Area…which includes all forms of ice cream; such as hand-rolled ice cream, gelato, waffle cones, soft serves, cup ice cream, single, double, triple scoops, cones from the store, ice cream bars. You name it its anywhere in the WORLD.
This is one of the best & POPULAR DESSERTS IN THE WORLD that unites all , regardless of age, gender, picky eaters, diabetics…there are even sorbets or sugar free ice creams as well that are getting more popular.
I always told EVERYONEEE around me if there are 2 things I want the most even when I’m bedridden or comatosed its ICE CREAM OR PASTA. Ice Cream has been my all time favorite dessert ever since I was kid. I was born in Hyderbad,India. Lived in Nairoibi Kenya for 4 years. Ever since I was a kid I was always a sweet tooth…AND ICE CREAM WAS THE IMMEDIATE GO TO DESSERT. LOVED LICKING THE SOFTIES AND LETTING GO ALL OVER YOUR FACE HEHE…I’ve had variety of ice creams in 3 coutries i’ve lived in India, KEnya, & Canada. Currently living in Lansing,MI. USA. My main discussion is gonna be on the best ice cream spots I’ve discovered in local Lansing and Michigan State University Campus area. Tadaaaaaa hehe They are:
1.)Unicha Tea & Ice Cream; East Lansing, MI. Near Michigan State University Campus.
This Place particularly specializes in a special kind of Ice cream called Hand Rolled Ice cream.
Hand Rolled Ice Cream is a specific type of ice cream that has a cooled bottom with a bit of ice and then the Ice Cream maker pours some Milk, Cream, Sugar and 3 initial mix ins from the menu board that you customize or pick a combo they already set…and combines them all with these 2 spatula like handles. And Rolls the ice cream mix into 5 different rolls and then adds the 3 toppings on top that you custom picked or come with the set combo ice cream you pick. 2.)Iorio Gelato at Horrocks: 7420 W Saginaw Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917
One of my other favorite ice cream/gelato places in Lansing area. Like I stated earlier “Ice Cream” can be in any forms…Gelato is an italian version of ice cream…made with less sugar & fat than regular ice cream. This place is the bomb…they have over 20 varieties of Gelato all are top notch…the best Gelato I’ve had so far from all the cities I’ve lived in USA. The Gelato just melts in your mouth…its made with fresh ingredients you can literally taste the fruit like fresh within the gelato…its not too icy like a lot of other places I’ve been to…its the right consistency & cream…you can get small, medium, or large size and they can fit in as many flavors as you like in each…I’ve almost mixed 5 or 6 flavors in a medium and it was a PERFECT. 3.) MSU Dairy Stores Located at MSU UNION & Anthony Hall on MSU Campus.
One of my favorite go to Ice Cream Store on campus. Popular Year around. MSU Dairy Store uses its own local fresh ingredients from different farms in MSU. Locally sourced milk, and they also sell local cheeses, and sell grilled cheese sandwiches, shakes & soups. A very popular place among tourists on Campus and different summer camp kids over the summer…a lot of families with little kids are also here so its popular among all ages. Few of my favorites among the vast selection of flavors are Dantonios Double Fudge Fake, Izzo’s Malted Madness, Strawberry cheesecake, blue moon, vanilla, & Banana Chocolate Chunk(My all time favorite , very delicious and cooling esp when the weather is super duper hottt!!! MUST TRY!!!
