Beskalan dance is a dance from Malang, East Java, Indonesia. Usually displayed at the opening of the event or to welcome guests.

Beskalan dance is accompanied by a musical instrument called gamelan. Musical instruments that only exist in Java. Mystical ancient musical instrument.

A set of gamelan musical instruments consists of kendang, bonang, demung, saron, pekingese, kenong & kethuk, slenthem, gender, gong, xylophone, fiddle, siter, flute, kempul.

To get a beautiful tone, the usual gamelan is played in an ensemble.

Beskalan dance has smooth and complicated movements. Every movement has meaning. The dancer’s fingertips can tell. Likewise with footsteps and head movements. Full of Mystery.

The clothes worn also have meaning. The clothes worn by dancers are Javanese gelung with chunky crocheted ornaments, earrings, sampur, sungsung necklaces, mekak, timang belts, stagen, semyok, pedangan, socks and gonseng.

When performing rituals, sometimes there are trance. But Beskalan dance is a beautiful dance with dynamic movements. Anyone want to study?

Hmm, menarik. Tari beskalan. Saya sendiri orang Malang, tapi saya tidak bisa tari-tari tradisional. Hehee…

Tapi kemudian jadi penasaran dengan istilah “misterius” yang Mbak @Moestika gunakan untuk menggambarkan tarian ini. Dan bahkan dari gerakan jari yang berbeda, bisa ada pengartian yang berbeda pula.

Nah, saya jadi penasaran, Mbak @Moestika bisa minta tolong kasih contoh/ceritakan satu saja perbedaannya seperti apa. Kalau detil gerakan tangan seperti ini artinya, lalu kalau yang lain artinya gimana lagi. Pasti ceritanya jadi makin menarif dan lebih informatif. Hehee… terima kasih :))

Sebenarnya untuk gerakan jari tangan memang beda artinya, contohnya ada posisi ngrayung, miting dsb. Untuk mengetahui arti dari semua itu silahkan wawancara dengan guru tari. Karena saya mengetahui sedikit saja & tidak begitu mahir menarikannya.

That I use my own makeup with local products. Even though I’m not good at makeup, but for my own face I dare to do it. Hopefully my face is not scary… He… He… Thanks @Austinelewex
