Beljanica mountain

Long time no see…

Since it has been really cold these days, it is the best time for a summer throwback. This time, I will try to describe my little hiking adventure to Beljanica mountain.

One of the hardest things for me is, for sure, getting up early and getting ready for travel. I woke up around 4:30 am, brushed my teeth, and picked up my backpack with all necessary things in it. The starting point was in Belgrade, and it took us around 2 hours to get to Beljanica.

Beljanica’s height is 1339m. Even though it is not very high, it was very difficult to reach the top because of the constantly steep angle we were walking.

Around 7 am, we started our tour. This photo represents the beginning of our adventure.

One of the reasons why I enjoy walking through the woods is the fresh air and the smell of nature, leaves, and grass. After around 3 hours of walking, we came to the hardest part of the tour that lasted for the next 60 minutes. The incline was around 60 degrees, and it was really tiring.

My tactic for this was to take a short break after every third tree I had touched, and somehow it worked well for me. After reaching the top, the first thing was to have the meal I had prepared the day before. Even though the food was cold, I enjoyed it fully, and it gave me the strength to get back.

The route took us about 9 hours with breaks, and we walked around 20 km. I am eagerly awaiting warmer

weather so I can embark on new adventures.

And if you’re wondering how I look, here is a photo…
