Being happy to share small details and great beauties

When you don’t have enough money to travel abroad, what you have left is to look around us and find beauty in the things that surround us. Believe me, it is always possible to find beauty in the smallest things that, most of the time, aren’t noticed by us.

My passion is sharing pictures of places trying to always show through a look with a creative angle. I love doing this and I end up contributing with quality photos in Maps since I don’t find many really useful photos of the locations where I live. Most pictures you find are very low quality and the do not say much about the place they are tagged in. Doing something useful and pleasant at the same time, I share pictures that I shoot daily in the Maps so that people can contemplate the beauty and have a better understanding of that location. Sharing my clicks in Maps is something new for me but it has made me very happy so far.

Photographing architecture and nature is something that relaxes me and I have done it more and more. observing how geometrical and organic shapes talk to each other, how they are made up, and how they behave (and change) in front of different daylight is simply pleasurable.

Some shots I took

Cine-Theatro Central

It rained in the city, as usual, and still in the morning the sun came back and soon the people went out into the streets … The wide sidewalk of Halfeld Street, a busy pedestrian-only street, was drying up gradually as the weather warmed. I saw, on the floor, a beautiful pool that, from a certain angle, reflected the beautiful building above.

Museu do Crédito Real

As the sun rise from behind the mountains, the buildings begin to attract more attention. The contrast between light and shadow makes a spectacle happen: every minute a new possibility. The beauty of shooting in the daylight is that we can capture several landscapes in just one place.

Edifício das Clínicas

It’s amazing to capture how man-made geometric forms talk to the organic forms of nature. In this image we have the building, with beautiful yellow parallel strips that contrast with the crown of the beautiful tropical trees that at that moment were heated with the first rays of the sun of the day.

Avenida Rio Branco

The sea of buildings that surround the avenue forms a salad of architectural styles from different eras that lived the city in the past decades. We have from centennial buildings to newborn buildings. With a three-mile walk we can glimpse a beautiful slice of culture, unusual shapes and giant mirrors.

Europa Central Tower

Playing with colors, shapes and materials makes this building an authentic mirror in the middle of the city. While it looks serious, at the same time it seems fun since we have curves, colors and a beautiful glass panel.

Edifício Millênio Center

Glass and sky make a great couple. In architecture, if used in great quantity, end up forming a giant mirror with the best of reflexes. This building, in front of the condominium where I live, changes as the day passes, in this photo it was blue, but sometimes it is yellow, orange and gray.

Catedral de Santo Antônio

The silver dome of the Metropolitan Cathedral glows the sun all day long. Around there have several tropical trees, from where we can hear birds humming.

Federal University of Juiz de Fora

I captured this photo to show the beautiful combination of architecture and nature. In this picture we have one of several contemporary buildings that are located on the campus of the university and, in the background, the present vegetation that is also very present on campus.

Pirapanema, Brazil

The small village high in the mountains has several of these friendly little houses, built decades ago by the people who live there. At the side of the house has an orange tree.

Thank you for reading ><

@sanchestom - I love the filter you use for your photos. It adds an aged, warm quality to them. May I ask what kind of device you use to shoot these for daily photos for Google Maps?

Cheers,
