The most interesting thing I did as a local guide was to put my city, and other cities in the countryside that I visit, on the Map of the World.
I am a professional Photographer and a Photography teacher. I use photography as a tool to recognize the spaces around me, habits, cultures and I teach people this. I was very happy to be able to share my vision on Google Maps showing details and curiosities of small towns, in addition to valuing small businesses.
An interesting story I had as a Local Guide was that, because of my contributions on Google Maps, with photos and captions with historical content, I was invited to participate in the development of the Tourism Master Plan in my city, Pindamonhangaba-SP, and that was magnificent, they considered me as a celebrity, and as a result, my photos illustrated the public policy document and were used in a catalog to publicize the city’s sights.
Wherever I go in the cities where I travel, I have made records of the sights and places that I find interesting, and always posted on Google Maps, I write reviews and it begins a very cool movement, because when people travel they want to know what they can see and do in the cities, mainly for a foreign look, without vices.
In addition to these works, when photographing events or weddings, I get to know different and beautiful places. I always post pictures of them, so people that are looking for new places to get married can use them as a reference. An example of this was Santa Gertrudes’s Farm, when only one photo was responsible for 38,611 views and that made me feel powerful and important.
My photos gain more and more views and I am happy to help people discover new places and to value these cities.
