For Me, Being A Local Guide Means Creating Miracle
I start being a local guide, especially for people out there who want to know about place and culinary in Surabaya, and other place in East Java, Indonesia around the year of 2018. And it’s start by coincidence. Even me, my family, and my friends also familiar with google maps.
At first, I thought, because I only a domestic traveler, and rarely travel far, my sharing won’t be make any different. But, I start to realize that I was wrong. When I start to post one, and then another picture. And I start to post one, and then two, …. reviews…and receive notification from google maps that many people out there read my reviews and view those picture I’ve posted…I feel it’s a simple yet impactful kindness.
Then, I start to post regularly, because like other people around the world, me too want to help others. And becoming local guides, do makes it a lot easier to contribute simple kindness for others. For me, maybe it’s as simple as posting a unique foods or drinks in my lovely city, Surabaya.
One of unique drinks I reviewed and post to google maps, as Surabaya Local Guide, were viewed by thousands of people. What’s an amazing thing. It’s still surprising til now, how one posting can give a useful informations for lots of people. People who probably we’ll never know, but thouched by our post. It really took a minutes to review or post something in google maps, but we’ll be surprised about the impact of that simple thing we do. Just like miracle.
I know, there are many people who send submission to attend Google Local Guides Connect in California. A place that thousand miles distance from where I live. But, who knows? There are so many amazing things happened and changed by google map, and I do believe that nothing is impossible. I wish you all, a good luck and a bless in your life.
