Being a local Guide - Contributing to the society

Since my childhood, my parents always stressed us to help others either through charity, social work etc. Carrying our family legacy, I joined and then lead Social Welfare and Blood donor Society during my university days. After coming to professional life as an Engineer, I always felt the shortage of time as a limitation to satisfy my desire to contribute to society in any possible way. After becoming a Google local guide, I have realised overtime that probably this is the medium I would be able to live my dream to contribute to society and help people around me. It always feel great when I get to know that my pictures, videos or reviews are making a difference to the people around me. I feel fulfilled and connected virtually to several individuals. Though this journey hasn’t been easier due to multiple challenges being faced like my busy schedule, financial constraints, culture bindings, social norms and above all the limitation of the app and technological ecosystem. As a local guide community, we should discuss and share our learning to enhance the experience of other google map users. I strongly believe that together we can maximise our potential !!
