Recently took a tour of this city during the holidays…
To our delight, this city is one of the most beautiful Tourist city we have been to.
what you would expect here:
downtown San Antonio River Walk
a. restaurants and plenty of shopping along the river
b. boat tours and 3 different on and off ramps - expect long wait lines in the evening, but if during day light not so bad
c. as you walk downtown and notice an area with out tall high rise building - you must have ran into the HISTORIC ALAMO (misson/fort/base) we expected the Alamo to be else where but center of downtown makes it easier to visit.
5 other missons to visit than the Alamo (go to the most southern Mission and rent a bike and work your way up north, each Mission is about 2-3 miles apart. well worth a 1/2 day to do ← we enjoyed this as much as the river walk
tower of america’s - look for the large park and tall SPACE NEEDLE like tower and that is it !
also the photography was done with my small Fuji Camera - 500 dollar body, and 16mm F 1.4 lens, about 900 dollars… i like this combo because it is small and has wireless capability and i did all the edits on my Samsung Note 9 Cell phone Android. used a Gorrilla pod 4k Tripod kit as it is small and light weight
Thanks for sharing your photos. They are absolutely fantastic! The river walk is so lit and full or decorations, it must’ve been a great experience to go there. Do they have Christmas markets there as well, like the German ones with mulled wine and others delicacies and things to buy? Did you try any of the places? It looks like a fairy tale.
@DanniS hello again Danni, it is difficult to take bad photo here… city did a great job to make it clean and visually impressive.
they did not have a Xmas shop/center like a Christkindlesmarkt in germany that i noticed… but the mexican shopping center did have fantastic tree display…
over all we were very pleased with San Antonio. as we speak, the river is being cleaned and they drain out the canal to clean it… just a stark contrast from 2 weeks ago to now… lol…
@Phamstagram360 My god, your photos are stunning. I think I have been there long time ago. It is always beautiful. Thank you for sharing this post with us.
Hi @Phamstagram360 that is so great. back in 2006-2007 I was in United States and I’ve visited the River Walk in San Antonio, also the old Spanish Missions of the Alamo . your post reminded me my great memories while there. I did capture a numbers of photos and short clips there. Unfortunately, that time the HD photo quality technology was not exist, my photos little blurred. I could share one of my best .
