Beating an illusion of uselessness

People seems to be struggling with an information overload and in my homeland the habit to suffer paints it with its unique color palette. Most of us silently agreed to consume information without any control: news, social networking, tv, notification systems that are hard to ignore… I dedicate my Google Maps editor activity for those who breaks this vicious circle and limits the data consumption to enhance its processing quality. Please, simply check Google Maps before going to the new place and spend some time to analyze it instead of mindless memes swiping!

People in my country often live with some kind of disregard to themselves, ignoring their small needs to the bitter end; we got used to the middle and low quality of everything and prepare ourselves to the unpleasant, pale service level wherever we go. I see a huge possibility for them to finally see and accept this huge social challenge and improve their lives with Google Maps data. Instead of vague web surfing in search of a shoe repair and spending two hours to get there people in my home area will find a good repairer 500 meters away from home if hundreds of editors like me will spend 2 minutes. Instead of a sudden stress young father gets because of a tire puncture repair, he will find a tire fitting service nearby and a price list photo in his favorite navigating app in seconds.

I do believe that most of our happiness level depends on a culture we are living in. Fortunately, culture is hand-made, so the gem of home area supporting community can be cut with the well-known steps of good communication and technologies responding to our real needs.
