"Beat the Heat with the Cool Charm of Kulfi" - TravellerG

Hello dear friends

As the summer sun blazes overhead, finding the perfect way to cool down becomes a top priority. While icy drinks and air-conditioned rooms offer temporary relief, there’s something timeless and deeply satisfying about indulging in a traditional frozen treat - the Kulfi — India’s answer to the heatwave.

Unlike conventional ice cream, kulfi is denser, thanks to the slow simmering of milk until it thickens and caramelises slightly. Infused with flavours like cardamom, saffron, pistachios, or mango, this dessert isn’t just refreshing — it’s a celebration of “Beat the Heat” in every bite.

Kulfi is versatile and nostalgic, and served on a stick. Whether you pick it up from a street vendor or make it at home, it never fails to bring back memories of carefree summers and simpler times.

Looking to beat the heat? Skip the soda and say yes to a Kulfi. It’s tradition, taste, and temperature control — all rolled into one delicious treat.

I visited the ‘Cool Bites Juice & Snacks’ along with family and guests, and we enjoyed the session very much.

‘Lychee rose panna cotta’ from the Cambodian restaurant ‘Khmer Kitchen’, Bangalore.

Hope, the author of the Challenge “Beat the Heat”, our friend @MathanVibranarayan, will like this post and add to his master.

Regards, with thanks for visiting this post.

Thanks for sharing this @TravellerG Sir. Kulfi is my favorite among ice-creams @TravellerG Sir. Nicely taken pictures. A good tactics to take a picture like this, closing the face. The lychee rose panna cotta also looks delicious.

In fact, I too like Kulfi, more than Ice cream; it has its own nostalgia too.

Yes, I like this frame very much.

Kulfi is the most convenient way to enjoy while walking or when we want to purchase from a shop and take it back home.

Superb photos and amazing flavors @TravellerG

I agree that we should skip soda for the many disadvantages and adverse effects on health. Instead Kulfi or fresh ice creams are the best :+1:

Yes, I noted that as well @Gurukrishnapriya :+1:
Taking a photo of the object covering a face, so that we don’t have to blur it separately.

I am picking several photography techniques from @TravellerG in every post :+1:

Hello dear @TusharSuradkar
Thank you very much for your kind response.

You are very kind… your compliments are very valuable to me.

Soda, I fully agree…
Icecream has more calorie compared to Kulfi…well, rest is left to a user, by his liking…

That frame is one of my favourite composition…
Thanks for your nice compliments, dear friend.

Ohh… thank you for your generous compliments…:folded_hands:

I very sincerely appreciate your observations and keenness. Also, you are very inquisitive… and have excellent grasping power,.. great :+1:

This shot is captured in ‘Portrait’ mode with the FOCUS on the Ice Stick (touching the Kulfi, instead of the face)…then… automatically the face will turn blurred…
Hope you got my point…

I meant, I had tooth erosion problems because of soda drinks - that is the reason I look at soda as not good for health. @TravellerG

Calories is no problem for me, I can consume as many, still remain thin, and not gain weight

Dear @TravellerG sir Kulfi is definitely a hitting spot in this heat :raising_hands::flexed_biceps: It’s like the ultimate level-up for beating summer, unlocking all those core memories. :fire::snowflake: It’s less a dessert, more like essential, old-school survival gear. Totally get why it’s India’s classic answer! I love your photography, your cover design and thank you so much for this entry.

Oh… okay… I understand…
Thanks
In India many people make Ice Creams at home…
