The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow seems to be the beach :rainbow: :ocean:

I went for a walk to my local beach and found the famous Coogee Beach stairs were roped off and being painted with a huge bright and colourful rainbow. I sat and watched as the last colour was rolled onto the concrete surface and thought about all of the wonderful things this simple rainbow represents.

I took lots of photos and videos of the painters and spoke to them about their work, which they said they were very proud of.

20 February 2021 marks the beginning of the Sydney Mardi Gras festivities and the rainbow is one of many cool events happening in Sydney. Randwick City Council ordered the rainbow to be painted on the Coogee Beach walkway as a sign of “support of diversity, inclusivity and equality with the local LGBTQI+ community.”

The Coogee Beach rainbow is also painted on an accessible walkway to and from the beach making it a happy place for all.

It was great to see this being made on your insta feed @PennyChristie and thanks for sharing it here. The more these symbols get out in public the more acceptance there is because acceptance simply becomes normal and those community members who are unable to bring themselves to accept these community members are driven more and more into obscurity. I love public pride celebrations and Sydney Mardi Gras is one of the best.

Hi @TsekoV the beach rainbow is a temporary addition to Coogee, and will stay in place for a few months. Exactly how long it’ll remain is yet to been revealed. I would like it to be a permanent addition to the walkway :rainbow:
