Hi, Local Guides
First of all, I am happy to see you read this post.
You might be curious to know what this post is about, so well it’s about my journey cum inspiration with Local Guides Program and the story behind my Contribution on Maps for Restaurants and Eatery Zones.
When someone asks me Are you a local guide? Which Level? and What do you contribute most?
So my answer be NO, I am not just a local guide,I am a Proud Level 9 Local Guide
, And past some time I have been very keen on contributing about Restaurants and various eatery zones, Starting from Fast food to various different country cuisine I love to contribute about food very much, Now after this the next question arises Why do you contribute on Google Map?
And this is a very interesting question to me as it has many inspiring stories behind but I would like to share a story which has inspired me to contribute more about restaurants, food court, and small eatery places.
Me being born and brought up in Mumbai (Maharashtra, India) completed my studies in Mumbai itself and even my 1st Job was in Mumbai, But after 2.3 years I got a better opportunity and decided to move to Pune which is again in Maharashtra, India but it was a completely new place for me and Settling in a new city was a challenge.
I had joined the Local Guides Program in the year 2017 and since then I am contributing on Maps regularly, And Being in a New city the Major concern was accommodation and Food. Somehow I managed apartment in Pune but finding Cook was a great challenge.
So during my initial days, I explored many restaurants, Fast food center, and eatery zone within Pune.
There was an Incident where My friend and I decided to visit a famous Restaurant called “Survej Pure Non-Veg Restaurant” in Viman Nagar, Pune. We checked out the restaurant on Google Maps and there were good reviews about the place and this restaurant is pure Non-veg. We entered the restaurant and checked Menu Card and it was Mainly Chicken and Mutton Thali cooked like Home and moreover, it was too expensive more than we expected, Now it was quite tough for us to choose what to order as I was expecting something fancy and not like home cooked food.
So after going through all the menu, my friend ordered Half “Biryani” and I chose a different and uncommon dish called “Chicken Khichdi” half which was not so expensive and it was really very delicious. Seeing the Quantity and Quality of food, I realized one thing, This Restaurant is quite expensive but they serve more quantity than other restaurants that is the reason it is expensive. Like in Half Chicken Khichdi 2 people can eat fully. Then I gave a thought it would have been Great if somebody had reviewed about the quantity of food here. So after this Incident, I focus on the Quality and Quantity of food and also my reviews speak about Budget, Cleanliness of the restaurant, Staff at restaurant and Ambience Specifically.
There were a lot of other incidents from which I keep learning and I write such reviews what I want to see in others review of any restaurants or places. I always write a detailed review trying to give as much information as I can, covering most of the important things what people see before visiting any place. I strongly believe in this Phrase “Be the Change what you want to see in the world” hoping every Local Guide always post a detailed review every time.
Food is very important for all of us, As it fuels up our body and mind. So the Question is Do you Live to Eat? or Eat to live? Let me know what do you think about this?
Well, I Live to eat, Once I had traveled 24kms one side to eat Dal-Bati [A Rajasthani Dish] in a Dhaba called Shree Baba Ramdev Dhaba, Nigdi. Pune is a city where people from all over India come here either to Study or Work, So mainly newcomers have budget constraint and Considering this in Mind, I hunt for Cheap and Best food restaurants, I explore various small and big well-known restaurants regularly and keep posting on Google Maps so that people like me who are keen to explore new restaurants get the best idea before even they visit. And I have Helped a lot of people, With the Views on my reviews and Photos, I guess I AM MAKING DIFFERENCE.
This is the POWER of Local Guides Program and I AM A VERY PROUD LOCAL GUIDE.
