Bay Area Hiking Series: Presidio: Lovers Lane

I will introduce San Francisco Bay area Hiking Trails, through these series of posts. This is seventh post of this series. In this post I will take you to San Francisco, Presidio!

All pictures in this post are shot with Pixel 3.

Lover’s Lane trail is located in San Francisco Presidio. Trail itself is 0.6 Miles long, however you can walk around Presidio area visiting some of the historic houses, meadows etc. The trail connects Presidio gate to main post.

As per presidio website “The Presidio is for lovers! Nature lovers, outdoor lovers, art lovers, and history lovers will find something to gush about on Lovers’ Lane”!

Since my daughter was aware of the Bay Area Hiking Series posts I was doing, my family took me here as part of Father’s day celebration! This area is really beautiful with tall eucalyptus trees.

Andy Goldsworthy’s Woodline:

As you see in the picture below, you can see the iconic work of renowned artist Andy Goldsworthy, wood line made up of eucalyptus branches sourced from various park projects that required tree removal, the sculpture is more than 1,200 feet in length

We found this note, while hiking in this area.

What is this thing?

“It is an invitation to connect with nature through the seasons. There are hidden “field notes” like this in eight other special spots around the park. You can find them aiming your cell phone camera at this QR code and clicking the link.”

Fellow Hikers and dog walkers on the trail

There was Coyote awareness warning on the trail

We found this during our hike, some one decorated this trunk with some toys!

I love walking around The Presidio and have explored it several times @jayasimha78 such an amazing campus of buildings and places. Its advisable to stay on the trails there with prolific poison oak around the trees there.
