Battambang to Phnom 1500: A Journey Through Cambodia’s Hidden Highlands 🇰🇭

Battambang, Cambodia’s charming old city, is not just known for its quiet beauty—

it’s a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, rich with culture, art galleries, and culinary heritage.

As we left the city behind, the road led us deep into the natural beauty of Samlot District — a region rich with forests, rivers, and winding paths that awaken every rider’s soul.

The road climbed higher as we passed Velveng and headed toward the legendary Phnom 1500 (ភ្នំ 1500).

Locals and adventurers alike know this place well, not just for its elevation, but for the peaceful fog-covered views, cool mountain air, and the sense of pure disconnect from the chaos below.

This isn’t just a destination, it’s a healing route — where the roar of the engine meets the silence of the hills.

Oh wow thank you for sharing your trip @SophatCHY ! I want to try the food

The location is called * TEAM KHMER Restaurant*

Here, I tried a traditional dish for the very first time—called បុកល័ក្ខ (Bok Lok). It’s a rare and បុរាណ-style (traditional) Cambodian dish you can only find at this specific location. The taste took me straight back to the roots of Khmer culinary culture—simple, powerful, and unforgettable.
