I got the opportunity to know many facts related to the life of crocodiles, some of the important facts are as follows.
Crocodile cleans the environment by cleaning many impurities from water.
Crocodile breeds in the months of November to March and makes a mound of grass and soil and lays eggs in it. A female crocodile lays about 50 eggs at a time, from which the babies come out in 65 to 110 days.
Crocodiles are among those unique reptiles whose heart has four chambers like humans and they can hold their breath like humans. It has been observed that a crocodile can hold its breath for four to six hours under water.
Crocodiles also have a third eyelid which does not move up and down but moves from right to left. It helps the crocodile to see while swimming in water.
Crocodiles are expert in returning to their homes. They can travel up to 60 kms. to return to their place. Please help in saving crocodiles.
The Bassi Wildlife is a Nature’s Wonder and Crocodile Sanctuary where on the banks of Chambal river they find a safe refuge. While visiting long range binoculars are provided by the forest officers and visitors are instructed not to go near the river banks.
Therefore, it is our moral responsibility to cooperate in the conservation of crocodiles so that the environment can remain safe and clean.
I would like to suggest that tourists must carry water and little snacks. Here the entree fee is quite nominal for locals but high for the international tourists. Further tourists must remain cautious as beasts may harm our lives.
