This new racetrack offers a world-class experience. On a race day they do barn tours. Children should be at least 12 years old. They do it because it is a life-changing, up close and personal connection that alters young lives. People who work with horses always have that moment when the horse chooses them. As a Make-A-Wish volunteer, I can tell you that it was like being on a Wish. It was educational and also full of very good stories that would keep a bar room full of cowboys hanging on your every word. They offer tours because you never know which child will someday be a horse owner, veterinarian, or groomer. Tours available through their website. We went onto the track and learned enough trivia to make Alex Trebek’s jaw drop! She took us to the private suites and even on the roof. I didn’t expect the horses to be so funny and dorky. They really made us laugh. Drop the track a note, take the tour and I can guarantee that you will fall in love with these elite athletes. Even at my old age, I found it magical.
