Baralacha La Pass is the highest mountain pass in the Zanskar range connecting Lahul district in Himachal Pradesh to Ladakh (UT) in India.
It is one of the high altitude motor-able mountain passes.
Baralacha La Pass is situated at an altitude of 4850mtrs.
It is the Meeting Point of the Pir Panjal, the Zanskar and the Great Himalayan Mountain Ranges. I passed through Baralacha pass two times heading Ladakh and back from Manali.
It was June but still, there was a lot of snow on that pass, l enjoyed the snow a lot!
Compared to the beauty of Baralacha, Rohtang pass is inferior!
There is a Cafeteria approx 20 km ahead of this pass.
Maggi(noodle) & Tea are the best combo to have at a high altitude on icy-mountain.
Best experience ever!
Thank You for being on this post.
Lots of Love

Amazing view @RaviRaaz !
Imagine having to be the one to clear the road from snow in the first place. It seems impossible to know where the road runs.
I bet it’s a great experience driving down the side of that mountain.
Is there any possibility for skiing there?

Thank You @MortenSI
Baralacha pass is inhabitable in winter.
This place is closed for tourists from September to May, opened from April to August.
The government works hard with numbers of people to clear the road.
It was amazing to drive on this road. Adventurous!!
No skiing is there. The government recommend to pass this Baralacha pass in no minutes due to heavy snowfall and Avalanche.

Good to know @RaviRaaz thanks!
I believe it’s better to be safe than sorry so it’s a good thing they’re making sure no one travels there during the closed off months.
