Bangalore Palace was built in 1878 by Chamaraja Wadiyar, the Maharaja of Mysore. Inspired by Windsor Castle in England. A must-see landmark in Bangalore, this palace is a journey through history, art, and culture. It is home to an extensive collection of paintings, including works by renowned Indian artist Raja Ravi Varma. Gardens and well-kept lawns surround the palace, creating a tranquil and picturesque atmosphere. The entry fee for Indians is ₹260/- per person. The palace is open from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. except on Mondays. It takes about an hour to complete the tour. Inside the palace, photography is not permitted.

I lived in Bengaluru for 5 years and always wanted to visit the palace - but could not.
The entry fees is very steep. What is so special inside the monument?
